#YouthInTech is an initiative that promotes enthusiastic young people who have an idea or an innovative project.

How did this group come together?

As ‘Harry Fultz’ school students and classmates with a desire to do something more than the school curriculum, we decided to challenge ourselves and created the ‘OTC’ group. The group consists of Parid Çati, Kleon Oshafi, Besart Kaiku, Deiv Drenova and Kleivi Saracini.

How did you come out with this idea?

We are all citizens of Tirana and we know the problems that our city has, especially the problem of environmental pollution. By identifying one of the main causes as air pollution, we found an innovative and interactive solution, through our “R-ECO” application.

How does this app work and why exactly this name?

The main function of this application is the roads and “Green” areas. We give users the most ecological and low air pollution route to their destination. As for green areas, we collect the indices according to a simple algorithm and implement areas that are healthier than others.

Also to allow the user to have a direct impact on the greenery of Tirana, we give everyone the opportunity to plant a tree by watching some interactive ads.

In addition to the benefits for the user’s health and the city, we allow users to participate in our fun daily and weekly challenges, each of which earns a unique and special NFT that can be converted into monetary value.

How does the community/city benefit from this idea?

Our application is expected to bring about 70,000 planted trees to Tirana every year, this figure is given after some preliminary calculations made by our team.

We hope to help various environmental causes through our platform through challenges and games on it.

We hope to help various environmental causes through our platform through challenges and games on it.

We do not only target the city of Tirana. In the future, we plan to expand to other cities in Albania as well as adding the latest functionalities with the most innovative technologies.
