TechTalks is an initiativetaken by Innovation Directorate part of DPTIIDH, featuring local entrepreneurs helping to strengthen our ecosystem. By inviting founders to answer five questions, we want to highlight the most inspiring stories and patterns of our ecosystem. We hope that by giving startup founders a space to share their knowledge and experience, we will all learn and grow together.
How has your career helped you with setting up your start-up?
I have lived abroad since the age of 14 and the work culture was necessary because there I had to work the same as my peers. I have done different jobs and I have learned many different work processes. I have a background in Marketing and since a foreign school gives you many different experiences from different companies which have a corporate culture and very systematic, that has made the establishment of my business to have the same elements of culture.
What have been some of the biggest challenges for you?
The main challenge has been market education as people were accustomed to traditional products and bringing something new to Albania was a challenge in itself, above all when LeFutur opened in 2008 the world was in a global crisis. Also, since it was a new business, it was difficult for me to learn all the work processes from organizing the stock to finding the right suppliers. All the time we experiment with new products in the market and this in itself creates another challenge for us as the customer is always looking for new things and we have to adapt to their requirements.
What have been some of the biggest wins of your engagement?
A big victory was that LeFutur became a brand that everyone knows. Every business has its ups and downs but that does not mean you have to give up and above all you should never be demoralized. If I were to say the greatest achievement is precisely the fact that LeFutur has become a brand that brings smiles to people and this has been our motto from the beginning.
Also another win is also creating a unique entertainment experience within LeFutur stores without having to buy anything.
What are some of LeFutur’s specific needs?
LeFutur’s specific needs are products that need innovation all the time.
Why did you choose Tirana to establish and grow your business?
Because Tirana is a city full of liveliness, positive energy, youth and full of innovations all the time. This made me come back because I love Tirana and here I want to continue the further development of my business.
What are LeFutur’s objectives for the next 3-5 years?
LeFutur, although it has its heart in Tirana, will soon expand internationally, where it will open its first store in Austria to expand further in various European cities.
