The digitalization of our cities raises critical questions about the quality of life and democracy we want our cities to provide! Developing resources to support local governments to design better technology for their cities in inclusive and democratic ways is something that needs more development.

Citizens Voices for Digital Rights responded to the need to open up debates on digitalisation processes and digital rights for the general public so that these processes can be improved.

The Democratic Society has published the report “Citizens’ Voices for Digital Rights” for which the Democratic Society has worked together with the Municipality of Tirana, the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Municipality of Bordeaux and the Municipality of Milan.

The report aims to help cities push governments to include digital rights on their agendas as well as raise public awareness about them.
